The State Bank of India (SBI) on Monday announced an attractive interest rate of 7.1% for home loans in Chennai at the 18th Edition of FAIRPRO 2026, which will be organised by Confederation of Real Estate Developers’ Associations of India (CREDAI) from February 20 to 22 at the Chennai Trade Centre in Nandambakkam. Speaking at the press conference, Vivekanand Choubey, Chief General Manager, SBI, Chennai Circle, said: “This is to fulfil the dream of homebuyers. For new homebuyers and first-time homebuyers, especially who are young, huge concessions are being provided by the bank — in processing charges and in rate of interest from 7.1% for CIBIL related scores. The best scores get 7.1 percent and so on. Visit us on February 20, 21, and 22 for on-the-spot sanctions and getting concessions in interest rates and processing charges.” K. Mothish Kumar, Convenor, FAIRPRO 2026, said: “With growing aspirations, rising demand, and renewed momentum in Chennai’s real estate sector, FAIRPRO 2026 is poised to set new milestones in footfall, engagement, and business outcomes. With a large line up of projects, exclusive deals, and SBI as the sole banking partner, FAIRPRO will be a one-stop destination for every homebuyer.” He said, “Chennai is one of the most stable housing markets. Residential and commercial sectors maintain a strong momentum in the city. Rising income levels and revised tax slabs are enabling more residents to enter the property market. Chennai has emerged as a key destination for Global Capability Centres (GCCs). Office stock is expected to exceed 100 million sq.ft by the end of 2026.” He pointed out that Metro Rail and infrastructure projects were significantly boosting real estate value. Pointing to the rising demand for apartments, villas, plots, and commercials across key markets, Mr. Mothish said: “The luxury housing segment is growing, attracting high-end buyers. Sustainable and smart homes are gaining popularity, reflecting a shift toward eco-friendly and technology-driven housing solutions.” The exhibition will include 500 projects of 80 developers with a portfolio of 52,586 units across apartments, plots, villas, and commercial spaces, sprawling over 57.2 million sq.ft. Prices for homes at the exhibition range from ₹15 lakh to ₹15 crore. “Over the years, FAIRPRO has evolved beyond an exhibition to become a benchmark for credibility, transparency, and opportunity in property ownership,” said Mohamed Ali, president, CREDAI Chennai. “The residential market in Chennai remains strong and is supported by infrastructure growth and steady demand across segments,” said S. Sivagurunathan, advisor, FAIRPRO 2026, and immediate past president, CREDAI Chennai.
