Three cases had been registered against him under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act for his repeated involvement in the illegal sale and transportation of ganja in Udayagiri, Lashkar, and Bhadravathi Police Station limits.

Additionally, he was involved in several house-breaking and theft cases in Saraswathipuram, Vidyaranyapuram, Kuvempunagar, and Vijayanagar Police Station limits in Mysuru City and Mandya Rural Police Station limits during 2004 and 2005, along with his associate.

In order to prevent his continued illegal activities, the City Commissioner of Police issued an externment order under Section 55A of the Karnataka Police Act 1965. Based on this order, he was arrested on February 15 and externed to the jurisdiction of Sagar Town Police Station in Shivamogga district.
