JD(S) to hold membership enrollment drive in Mysuru district from Feb 18

The Youth Wing president of JD(S), Nikhil Kumaraswamy, will participate in a series of conventions as part of its membership enrollment drive in Mysuru district from February 18.

Addressing a press conference in Mysuru on Monday, former Minister and JD(S) leader S.R. Mahesh said the membership enrollment drive called ‘Janarondige Janata Dala’ (Janata Dal with the people) will begin with a convention in Periyapatna on February 18.

Describing Mr. Kumaraswamy as the “party’s future”, Mr. Mahesh said the Youth Wing president of the party will also participate in the membership enrollment conventions to be held at K.R. Nagar on February 22, at Bannur on February 24, and at Hunsur on February 25.

The dates for the party’s conventions in Varuna, Chamundeshwari, and H.D. Kote assembly constituencies will be finalised shortly, he said.

After the membership enrollment conventions, the party’s district and taluk units will be overhauled by replacing the taluk presidents wherever necessary with loyal party workers, he said.

Earlier, Harish Gowda, Hunsur MLA, said Mr. Kumaraswamy had already held such enrollment drives for the party successfully in 52 assembly constituencies across the State and instilled confidence in the party workers.
