National Engineering College signs memorandum of understanding with M/s Stashook Technologies Private Limited. Campus drive A pooled campus drive was held at PET Engineering College, Valliyoor. The drive was conducted by Teampro, for the students of all engineering disciplines, MBA and MCA courses. Managing Director Dinesh Babu, Product head Abdulla had assessed the technical skill and personality skills of students through several rounds of interview. At the felicitation ceremony, College Dean S. Tharveesh Mohideen emphasised that the goal of each student must be learn and earn. Around 150 students from PET Engineering College and other colleges participated in the drive. Viksit Bharat 2047 exhibition Sri Sarada College for Women (autonomous), Tirunelveli has organised a Viksit Bharat 2047 and SDG 2030 aligned exhibition for the students and public titled “Innovative Project Model Exhibition Based on Sustainable Development Goals.” K. Pitchumani, former vice chancellor of Manonmaniam Sundaranar University inaugurated the exhibition and witnessed static and working models and had interaction with modelers. A total of 146 exhibits representing science, technology, arts and humanities were displayed. 1642 students from different schools and 879 college students from Tirunelveli region have participated in the exhibition. R. Sudhakara Pandian, professor, department of database systems, school of computer science and engineering, VIT, Vellore has delivered the valedictory address. International seminar Department of Zoology, Sadakathullah Appa College (autonomous), Tirunelveli in partnership with Periyar University, Salem has organised a two day international seminar on “Biology Oriented Sustainable Practices in Rational Exploration-Biosphere 26.” The technical session on topics including “Microplastic and their Impact on Biosphere,” “Next Generation Sequencing and AMR Pipelines: Advancing Microbial Diagnostics and Resistance Prediction,” and “Alternative Approaches in Aquatic Health Management.” At the seminar, awards were distributed to the best paper and posters and the participants were provided with certificates. Greenathon 2026 The Xavier Institute of Business Administration (XIBA) of St. Xavier’s College, Palayamkottai and the Eco-She-roes department of YWCA conducted “Greenathon 2026.” The event was presided over by Tirunelveli District Collector R. Sukumar. “Greenathon 2026’” an awareness walk for climate justice and women safety was held at XIBA, a pioneering Jesuit college of southern Tamil Nadu. Rev. Innacimuthu SJ, secretary, Rev. Lazar SJ, director, Rev. Michael John SJ, president of YWCA and other staff were present. IGNITTA 26 The Department of Information Technology of National Engineering College, Kovilpatti organised a technical symposium “IGNITTA 26.” S. Jesuva Arockiadas, software development engineer-II at HighLevel Inc and an alumnus of the college attended the event as chief guest. In his speech he emphasised that planning, execution and teamwork are crucial for success. He urged the students to choose the domain of their interest and gain expertise in it. As part of the event, technical competitions such as “Algorithm Tug” and “Techno Clash” were conducted. Around 200 students from various departments participated in the competitions. MoU signed National Engineering College, Kovilpatti has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with M/s Stashook Technologies Private Limited, Chennai. The objective of the MoU is to foster collaboration with students and faculty in the fields of AI and software development. It also aims to provide training, workshops and internship opportunities in generative AI, large language models, machine learning, deep learning, natural language processing and related AI tools. K. Tamil Selvan, founder and director of Stashook Technologies Private Limited attended the event as chief guest and signed the MoU.
