The Sri Sathya Sai Prema Pravhini Divya Rath Yatra, being organised as part of the 100th birth anniversary celebrations of Sri Sathya Sai Baba of Puttaparthi in Andhra Pradesh, will pass through various parts of Dharwad district till February 22. Addressing presspersons in Hubballi on Monday, district president of the organisation and State convenor of the rath yatra N.S. Dharwadkar said that the chariot will travel across 500 districts in the country over 500 days. He said that the chariot has already covered South Karnataka and it entered North Karnataka on Monday with its first stop being Dharwad district. He said that the chariot will visit several places in the district, including Hubballi, Navanagar, Dharwad city, and rural areas such as Umachagi, Haliyal, Bommasamudra, Varur and Chhabbi, before concluding its journey in the district on February 22. According to the schedule, the chariot will be in Umachagi till 1 p.m. on February 17 before proceeding to Haliyal. On February 18, it will visit Bommasamudra, Varur and Chhabbi. On February 19 and 20, programmes will be held in Hubballi and on February 21 and 22, in Dharwad. A satsang and special musical evening will be held on the Sai Charana campus in Dharwad on February 22 from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. The organisers said that the yatra will feature a two-wheeler rally with flags of all religions, cultural performances by children, bhajans, a bullock procession, distribution of Vibhuti and prasad and community meals at various locations.
