Inaugurating the event, Jitendra Gupta, Director General of Postal Services, New Delhi, said the objective of the All India Postal Cultural Meet-2026 (AIPCM) is to showcase the rich diversity of the country’s performing arts. Internationally acclaimed violinist Mysore M. Manjunath, who was the chief guest, remarked that customers visiting post offices feel as if they are entering their own homes rather than a government office. The postal department is known for quality service and not only delivers letters but also carries emotions, adding that it has retained its relevance even in the era of social media. K. Prakash, Chief Postmaster General, Karnataka Postal Circle, who was present, said Indian art and culture continue to command respect across the world. A special commemorative postal envelope marking the conference was released on the occasion. Renowned violinist Mysore M. Nagaraj, Karnataka Postal Circle Director Sandesh Mahadevappa, Bengaluru Central Region Director V. Tara, and Director of the Postal Training Centre, Mysuru, Ashish Singh Thakur were present. The conference, being held from February 16 to February 20, features performances by 335 participants representing 21 postal circles from across the country. Organisers said the Postal Department is committed to employee welfare, creative expression, and community engagement. Events like the AIPCM play a vital role in nurturing teamwork, mutual respect, and a vibrant organisational culture among the postal employees nationwide. This is the third time that Mysuru is hosting the AIPCM after a gap of nearly two decades. The 37th AIPCM (2024-25) was hosted by the Kerala Postal Circle at Kozhikode in March last year. The Karnataka Postal Circle performed impressively in various cultural events at last year’s meet. The participants from Karnataka secured multiple first, second, and third places in vocal music (Hindustani and Carnatic), instrumental music, classical dance, group dance, and mono acting. The Karnataka circle was the second-best circle at the national level in last year’s event. The postal circle officials said our employees will put up an amazing show at this year’s meet. The valedictory of AIPCM will be held on February 20 at 8:45 a.m. at the KSOU campus, in which renowned Hindustani vocalist Pandit Venkatesh Kumar will be the chief guest. K. Prakash, Chief Postmaster General, Karnataka Circle, Bengaluru, will preside. The events will be hosted both at the Postal Training Centre in Nazarbad and the KSOU campus here. Elaborate arrangements have been made for the event, as the employees and their family members have come to participate and extend support.
