Working president of Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) and former Minister for IT and Industries K.T. Rama Rao stated that the statistics released/published by the Centre on the IT/ITES exports for the year 2023-24 has reiterated one more time that Telangana was at the top in the growth rate.

In a statement, he said on Monday that the IT exports from Telangana were at ₹57,258 crore in 2013-14 and the pro-industry policies introduced and decisions taken by the BRS government for 10 years had helped them grow to ₹2,72,076 crore in 2023-24. It was due to the vision of the then Chief Minister K. Chandrashekhar Rao that the IT industry had grown in leaps and bounds under his leadership.

Mr. Rama Rao said the growth rate in IT exports during the decade was 299%, highest in the country, an increase in IT employees by 209% and it was in Telangana every third IT job was being created (33%) during the period. The total IT employees headcount in Telangana had reached 10 lakh by 2023-24. Another 40 lakh indirect jobs were also created as every IT job would help provide employment to 4 other indirect jobs.
