Delhi Traffic Police on Sunday issued an advisory for commuters ahead of the five-day India AI Impact Summit 2026, which begins on Monday, and the CBSE Class 10 and 12 examinations, which commence on Tuesday.

Over 20,000 security personnel from the Delhi police and paramilitary forces have been deployed across the Capital to tighten vigilance for the smooth functioning of the summit at Bharat Mandapam, where several dignitaries, including heads of state and foreign delegates, are expected to arrive.

The advisory stated that traffic movement will be restricted on Bhairon Marg, excluding the Ring Road T-Point and Mathura Road, and on several other central Delhi stretches, including Subramania Bharti Marg, Rajesh Pilot Marg, Tees January Marg, Akbar Road, and adjoining roads.

It urged those who have planned their air and train travel on these days to leave early. Vehicles that are not Delhi-bound will be diverted to the Eastern and Western Peripheral Expressways, the statement added.

Those travelling to the Indira Gandhi International Airport will be directed through National Highway-48, Rao Gajraj Singh Marg, Urban Extension Road-I, and the Sector-22 Dwarka tunnel. Commuters bound for New Delhi, Old Delhi, and Hazrat Nizamuddin railway stations have been advised to take the Ring Road, Ashram Chowk, Raj Ghat, ISBT Kashmere Gate, and Vande Mataram Marg, among others. Metro services will continue to operate normally while buses and taxis may face temporary diversions during VIP movement, said the police.

“Essential services, including medical emergency vehicles, will be provided uninterrupted access with priority passage while the general public will be facilitated through designated alternate routes and transport modes,” read the statement.

Exam arrangements

The police said they are working closely with the Education Department to minimise inconvenience to students appearing for their CBSE exams. Over 46 lakh students are expected to appear for the Class 10 and Class 12 board exams.

“As the examination starts at 10.30 a.m., all students have been directed to reach their examination centres at or before 10 a.m.,” CBSE examination controller Sanyam Bhardwaj said.
