VELANKANNI RAJ The Greater Chennai Corporation (GCC) has imposed a fine of ₹1 lakh for violation of its construction guidelines for clean and safe building practices. The invoice, dated February 14, 2026, cites violation above 20,000 sq. m. (low and medium significance) under the name ‘Southern Railway Parking Campus’. Commissioner J. Kumaragurubaran said on Saturday that action was taken under prescribed norms for disposing construction and debris (C&D) waste.
