Image used for representational purpose. | Photo Credit: Getty Images/iStockphoto A 26-year-old private firm employee has filed a complaint with the North Division CEN Police alleging that his female friends misused his bank account and SIM card to commit cyber fraud. Based on the complaint lodged by Sridhar Ramesh K., a resident of Rajajinagar, the police have registered a case against the accused, identified as Nandini and Deepthi. They have been booked under Sections 66(C) (identity theft) and 66(D) (cheating by personation using computer resources) of the IT Act, 2000, along with Section 318(4) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), 2023, for dishonestly inducing delivery of property. Further investigation is under way.
