Welcoming the State Budget 2026-27, presented by Minister for Finance Payyavula Keshav on Saturday (February 14), Minister for Civil Supplies Nadendla Manohar said it was a comprehensive roadmap for development, which was evident from the increase in capital expenditure by 16%, to ₹53,917 crore from last year’s ₹39,498 crore.

Addressing media persons at the Assembly, Mr. Manohar said the YSRCP’s policies had destroyed the economy and that it took a lot of effort to revive it. The Budget was meticulously planned to achieve the goals, with due focus on increasing the State’s own revenue and creating wealth.

He said the Budget made a significant allocation for the implementation of the ‘Super Six’ welfare schemes and prioritised the agriculture sector and infrastructure projects.

Mr. Manohar lauded the emphasis laid on the development of City Economic Regions, saying that the proposed urban corridors would spur growth of the smaller cities and towns. He also welcomed the launch of a ‘sovereign wealth fund’ with a corpus of ₹100 crore and said the creation of a Data Lake would help in better delivery of citizen services.

The Minister congratulated Deputy CM K. Pawan Kalyan for getting an allocation of ₹22,942 crore to the Panchayat Raj and Rural Development Department and praised Minister for IT and HRD Nara Lokesh for mobilising investments on a large-scale.

Minister for Tourism Kandula Durgesh, MLC P. Hari Prasad and MLAs Konathala Ramakrishna, D. Vara Prasad, Lokam Naga Madhavi, Nimmaka Jayakrishna and Giddi Satyanarayana were present.
