The State government has earmarked ₹19,306 crore for the health sector in 2026-2027, reflecting an increase of 9.5% or ₹1,669 crore over the revised estimate of ₹17,637 crore in 2025-2026.

Addressing a press conference at the Assembly after the Budget presentation on Saturday, Health Minister Y. Satya Kumar Yadav, accompanied by BJP MLA P. Vishnukumar Raju, said the allocation constitutes 5.81% of the total Budget outlay. He noted that the health sector ranks fourth in overall allocations after Education, BC Welfare, and Panchayat Raj and Rural Development.

Under major heads, ₹9,380 crore has been provided for Medical Education, ₹5,352 crore for Health and Family Welfare, ₹2,582 crore for Public Health, ₹1,549 crore for the Directorate of Secondary Health, and ₹385.25 crore for AYUSH.

Among key schemes, ₹4,000 crore has been allocated to the Dr. NTR Vaidya Seva Trust, ₹2,819 crore for the development of government medical colleges and teaching hospitals, ₹600 crore for procurement of medicines, ₹222 crore for 108 ambulance services, and ₹128 crore for 104 health services. The government has also revived the NTR Baby Kit scheme with an allocation of ₹51 crore.

Under the Prime Minister Ayushman Bharat Health Infrastructure Mission, ₹838 crore has been sanctioned, marking a 98.87% increase over the revised estimate of ₹421 crore. The funds will be utilised for establishing critical care blocks, village health clinics, and public health laboratories.

Welcoming the Budget, Mr. Yadav said the enhanced allocation would strengthen healthcare infrastructure, improve service delivery, and support welfare initiatives, while accelerating progress towards the State’s vision of Swarna Andhra 2047.
