After multiple representations since June 2025, the Telangana government has cleared nearly ₹19 crore in pending stipend and arrear payments to junior doctors across the State. The bills were approved on February 12, and the arrears were credited to the doctors’ bank accounts on February 13. In a statement issued on Saturday, the Telangana Junior Doctors’ Association (TJUDA) welcomed the clearance of all pending stipend and arrear payments to junior doctors working under the Directorate of Medical Education (DME). The payments include arrears due to post-graduate doctors from the 2023 and 2024 batches, along with eligible Senior Residents, who have received their honorarium. The Association said that post-graduate doctors from the 2021 batch, who have completed their MD and are currently serving as Senior Residents, have received their legitimate post-graduate arrears. Doctors from the 2022 batch, who have recently completed their MD and entered Senior Residency, have also received their pending dues. With the release of the funds, the Association stated that there are currently no pending stipend or arrear payments for junior doctors anywhere in Telangana.
