Vizianagaram Municipal Corporation which is keen to collect ₹55 crores property tax by March 31, 2026 has taken up a special drive in all 50 divisions to make property owners to clear their dues. The Corporation has collected around ₹40 crore in 2024-25 financial year although it had targeted ₹50 crore. The civic body is hopeful of achieving the target with its special drive. The Corporation Commission B. Bala Swamy and Assistant Commissioner Killana Appala Raju has directed staff of ward secretariats to take up door to door campaign and meet all 75,000 assesses of the port city. Mr. Appala Raju who met traders, industrialists and individual property owners requested them to clear dues since additional funds were required to improve civic amenities in the City.
