As part of the Nava Keralam Citizen Response Programme, which seeks to gather public ideas and opinions for the State’s development, house-to-house visits commenced across Kottayam on Thursday.

The data collection officially began at the residence of former Supreme Court judge K. T. Thomas in Kanjikuzhy, Kottayam, where District Collector Chetan Kumar Meena presented the Chief Minister’s letter and brochure.

In the Changanassery legislative Assembly constituency, members of the action committee began interactions with Changanassery Archbishop Mar Thomas Tharayil. MLA Job Maichel and the District Collector jointly presented the brochure and letter to the Archbishop.

In the Vaikom constituency, data collection commenced at the residence of playback singer Vaikom Vijayalakshmi.

Trained volunteers are conducting the house visits under the coordination of a district-level committee chaired by the Collector. At the Assembly constituency level, charge officers are overseeing the training and fieldwork.

Besides private residences, members of the task force will also engage with the public at workplaces, agricultural fields, apartment complexes, educational and health-care institutions, commercial establishments, public spaces, and other sectors. Along with ideas for the State’s future development, the programme will also collect suggestions to enhance ongoing development and welfare initiatives.
