Two managers were arrested on Friday after the police conducted a raid and busted an alleged prostitution racket operating from two spa centres in south Delhi’s Lajpat Nagar.

Acting on specific inputs, the police carried out the raid around 7:20 p.m. on Thursdayat A-117, Lajpat Nagar-I, where the spas were operating. Nine women were also rescued.

The circumstances and questioning indicated that the wellness services were allegedly being used as a front for prostitution, the police said. The arrested have been identified as Arnish D. Senapati, alias Rahul, manager of Vegas Spa, and Vipin Vashishtha, alias Ravi, manager of Vedika Wellness Spa. Both have been booked under Sections 3, 4 and 5 of the Immoral Traffic (Prevention) Act, 1956, at Lajpat Nagar police station.

During interrogation, the accused admitted to managing the day-to-day operations, arranging customers for the women, and collecting payments, the police said, adding that they retained a commission before distributing the remaining amount. Customers were reportedly lured through misleading advertisements and word-of-mouth referrals. Both accused have no previous criminal record. Further investigation is under way, the police added.
