The Palarivattom police booked 10 people, including members of a family, for allegedly assaulting two IT employees at Chalikkavattom in the city following a dispute over car parking. The case was registered based on a complaint filed by Vijayakumar Krishnapilla from Thakkala, Kanyakumari, and Ajayan from Coimbatore who stay in a rented house at Chalikkavattom. They were allegedly assaulted by Siyad, a neighbour, and his family members and friends. The first information report (FIR) named Siyad, his wife, his brother-in-law, and seven others. The incident occurred around 11 p.m. on Wednesday (February 11, 2026). The tenth accused, Binu, allegedly trespassed into the complainants’ house and made death threats against them on Thursday (February 12, 2026) morning, the FIR said. The accused were charged with voluntarily causing hurt among other charges.
