Following information about the stocking of ration rice in a farm at Kurippankulam near Alangulam, the revenue officials raided the ranch on Friday and seized ration rice packed in 42 bags, weighing about 2,250 kg, from three spots of the farm. The seized ration rice was handed over to the Tamil Nadu Civil Supplies Corporation’s godown at Alangulam. Alangulam police and Civil Supplies CID police were also alerted about the seizure. Further investigations are on to identify the ration rice smugglers, who might have stocked the essential commodity to be smuggled to Kerala.
