A total of 56 persons with disabilities have been allotted houses in Coimbatore district under the Affordable Housing in Partnership (AHP) component of the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana – Urban (PMAY-U), with a total beneficiary contribution of ₹88.77 lakh mobilised through personal payments, Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) support and the District Collector’s discretionary fund.

The allotments were implemented by the Tamil Nadu Urban Habitat Development Board. Of the total beneficiaries, 36 persons with disabilities paid their contribution amounting to ₹54.89 lakh on their own, while the remaining 20 beneficiaries received financial assistance of ₹33.87 lakh through CSR funds, bank loans and the District Collector’s fund, officials said.

House allotment orders were issued at a function held at the District Collectorate on February 12, 2026 (Thursday), where District Collector Pavankumar G. Giriyappanavar distributed the orders to beneficiaries.

Officials said that under PMAY-U (AHP), the cost of each dwelling is met through Central and State government subsidies, with the balance amount collected as a beneficiary contribution payable to the Board.
