Elaborate security arrangements have been made for the Mahasivaratri Brahmotsavams at the famous Srisailam temple, one of the twelve Jyotirlinga shrines, in Nandyal district. Nearly 1,800 police personnel have been deployed to ensure smooth and peaceful conduct of the festivities.

Speaking to the media here, Nandyal District Superintendent of Police Sunil Shoran said that a coordination meeting was held with Additional SPs and DSPs drawn from multiple districts at the Srisailam police station on Friday (February 13, 2026). The security layout has been divided into 10 sectors, with responsibilities clearly mapped out for each unit, he added.

The SP said that a total of 1,614 civil police personnel from Kurnool, Anantapur, Annamayya, and Kadapa districts have been deployed, including 11 ASPs, 24 DSPs, 78 Circle Inspectors, 132 Sub-Inspectors, 303 ASIs and Head Constables, 568 Police Constables, 88 Women Police Constables, 386 Home Guards, and 30 Women Home Guards. In addition, 34 personnel from the Armed Reserve and three Reserve Sub-Inspectors have been pressed into service. Three special parties comprising 24 personnel and three RSIs have also been stationed.

The SP directed officials to monitor arrangements round-the-clock through the command control system, regulate traffic effectively, ensure orderly queues at laddu counters, and interact courteously with devotees to prevent inconvenience.
