Vizianagaram Superintendent of Police A.R. Damodar on Friday asked people to utilise the locked house monitoring system facility to protect their valuables —gold, silver and documents from thefts. Addressing the media in Vizianagaram, he said that families should inform the nearby police station when the plan to leave their homes for a long period of time, so that the police can monitor movements of people under the locked house monitoring system. The SP congratulated the police personnel for nabbing two accused persons who reportedly had stolen 38.5 tolas of gold and silver ornaments from the house of Janapureddi Venkata Ramana in Boddam village of Vepada mandal, in Vizianagaram district. He said that the cops recovered the ornaments and arrested the culprits P. Nukaraju and P. Upendra of Anakapalli district . Vizianagaram Deputy Superintendent of Police R. Govinda Rao, S. Kota Rural Circle Inspector L. Appala Naidu and others were present.
