A District-Level Job Fair – 2026 will be organised on February 21 at Mandya University in with the objective of providing employment opportunities to job aspirants from all sections of society, with special emphasis on persons with disabilities.

Zilla Panchayat Chief Executive Officer K.R. Nandini, who presided over a preparatory meeting at the zilla panchayat mini hall in Mandya on Friday, directed officials to make necessary arrangements to ensure that the job fair is inclusive and well-coordinated. She stressed that persons with disabilities should be identified in advance and provided with a dedicated interview room equipped with appropriate facilities.

The job fair is being organised jointly by the Department of Skill Development, Entrepreneurship and Livelihood, Deen Dayal Antyodaya Grameen Kaushalya Yojana, the District Administration, Mandya Zilla Panchayat, and Mandya University. The event will be held at the university’s Kalabhavan from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Officials have been instructed to undertake extensive publicity across all taluks. Public representatives’ video and audio messages will be circulated on social media platforms, and awareness campaigns will be carried out through Swachh Vahini vehicles in both rural and urban areas. Banners and posters will also be displayed in educational institutions and other crowded locations.

Special arrangements will include separate registration counters and help desks for candidates, exclusive counters for employer organisations, and provision of drinking water and meals. Interview rooms will be equipped with chairs, tables and other essential facilities. Staff will be deployed to maintain cleanliness, while medical staff and an ambulance will be stationed at the venue as a precautionary measure, a press release said.

Men, women, and transgender persons aged 18 years and above, including candidates from Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, minority communities, persons with disabilities and other special categories of unemployed youth are eligible to participate.

Candidates have been advised to report to the Mandya University campus by 9 a.m. on the day of the event and to carry their Aadhaar card and educational qualification marks cards. Meal tokens will be issued to registered participants, the release said.

An expert lecture on self-employment opportunities will also be organised as part of the event.

Officials from various departments, including Social Welfare, Agriculture, Women and Child Development, Health and Skill Development, were present at the meeting.
