Talking to reporters on February 13, Kudroli Gokarnanatheshwara temple Treasurer R. Padmaraj, said the procession will begin at Mangaluru Central railway station with only a few devotees. Others can join the main procession at Nehru Maidan at 9 a.m. The procession will pass through Clock Tower, PVS Circle, Narayana Guru Circle, and culminate at the temple. Mr. Padmaraj said the organisers want to create the feel of the day when reformer Narayana Guru marched in a procession in pursuit of a temple for the communities ostracised by the majority community. More than 10,000 devotees from across Karnataka are expected to take part in the 7-km-long procession, which will be organised in such a way that it will not obstruct motorists. Adequate parking slots will be arranged for vehicles of participants. Participants will be wearing yellow-colour clothes. “Bilva Patra Samarpana rituals will be held in the temple on February 21 from 7.30 a.m. Swami Sathchidananada of Sivagiri mutt and other religious leaders will take part in the rituals related to Tirthatane at the temple,” Mr. Padmaraj said.
