In this spirit of connection, the University hosted delegations from around the globe, from fellow Jesuit institutions to visionary partners, to unite in a shared mission. A delegation from Boston College visited the campus to explore potential opportunities for collaboration. Fr John Dardis SJ, Assistant Ad Providentiam of the Irish Province and General Counsellor for Discernment and Apostolic Planning, also visited to engage with faculty and discuss strategic alignment in apostolic initiatives. A group of 11 students from Singapore Management University participated in an interactive session focused on academic and cultural understanding. The event included a guided tour of our Astronomical Observatory and engaging sports activities facilitated by the Department of Physical Education. During their visit, the delegation observed our ongoing space science research projects and fostered camaraderie with SJU students through basketball and carrom matches. A concluding luncheon provided an informal networking opportunity, thereby strengthening institutional ties. This successful engagement laid a strong foundation for future international collaborations with Singapore Management University. A delegation from the College of the Holy Cross, Massachusetts, USA, including faculty members Fr Brent Otto SJ (History), Prof. Kevin Walsh (Computer Science), Prof. Victor Matheson (Economics), and Fr Antony Das SJ, along with nine students, visited the University. Mr H E Fleming Raul Duarte Ramos, the Ambassador of Paraguay to India, visited our campus, an initiative arranged by the Office for International Affairs. To explore potential areas for collaboration, representatives from the Department of Chemistry held discussions with Dr Marcus Kuhnert, former CFO and Member of the Management Board of Merck KGaA, as well as Dr Sharon Olivera, Franchise Product Manager for Reference Materials at Merck KGaA. Merck India is a subsidiary of Merck KGaA, a renowned German producer of chemicals and pharmaceuticals. Ms Caitlin Searle, Counsellor at the Australian High Commission in India, served as the Chief Guest for the Christmas celebrations in 2025. The School of Communication and Media Studies welcomed Prof. Frank Barnas, an award- winning documentary filmmaker and Quadruple Fulbright Scholar from Middle Tennessee State University, for a Fulbright residency. His visit involved conducting workshops, curriculum enhancements, and delivering lectures on global media practices. Dr Arthur Frankel from the School of Social Work, University of North Carolina Wilmington (UNCW), USA, along with a delegation of 15 members from UNCW comprising faculty, research scholars, alumni, and twelve students from the BSW and MSW programmes, participated in an academic exchange programme between the two institutions. The School of Life Sciences hosted an inspiring Science Communication workshop for both postgraduate and undergraduate students, led by the esteemed Prof. Stephen Ashworth from the University of East Anglia, Norwich, England. The School of Information Technology engaged in a productive and insightful discussion on collaborative opportunities with visiting delegates from Boston College, USA, Dr James F Keenan SJ, Vice Provost for Global Engagement, and Dr Bryan C Fleming, Executive Director – Global Engagement. Discussion focused on identifying potential avenues for academic and research collaboration, with a shared interest in building a sustainable partnership. Our Doors Are Open Since its elevation from an autonomous college to the status of a university, the institution has welcomed delegations from various parts of the country, drawn by its remarkable journey and eager to learn from its exemplary practices. The Open Day 2025 welcomed high school students (9 to 12 ), parents, and the public to explore our campus and academic opportunities. The event featured tours of research labs, faculty meetings, and information on programmes and admissions. Highlights included a leadership meeting with school administrators, a session for parents, a demo Parliament Assembly for students, exhibits, and awards. The Chief Guest was Prof. Dr Chandrabhas Narayana, Director of the Rajiv Gandhi Centre for Biotechnology. A vibrant delegation of 50 faculty members from Sacred Heart College (Autonomous) in Tirupattur, guided by the Salesians of Don Bosco (SDB), visited the campus, delving into enriching discussions with SJU officials and embracing the University’s outstanding practices. A group of 93 Tibetan students visited the SJU campus for an exposure trip and to explore the opportunities at SJU.
