Rajendran on Thursday said that 69,570 people benefited from 52 medical camps conducted under the Nalam Kaakkum Stalin scheme in Salem district. On August 2, 2025, through video conferencing, Chief Minister M.K. Stalin inaugurated the medical camp under the scheme at Kamarajar Girls Higher Secondary School in Salem Corporation. After that medical camps were conducted every week in various places in the district. In these camps, services of 17 different medical departments were available. On Thursday, the Minister inspected the camp conducted at a private school in Solampallam in Salem taluk. The Minister interacted with the people who came to the camp and distributed eye glasses to two beneficiaries, nutritional kits to two pregnant women and two baby care kits. Speaking to reporters, the Minister said that until Thursday, 57 medical camps were conducted in the district under the scheme. A total of 69,570 people benefited through the camps, including 29,390 male and 40,180 female. Likewise, blood tests were performed on 52,342 people, ECG tests were performed on 47,909 people, ultrasound scans were performed on 6,439 people, echo tests were performed on 7,249 people and X-ray tests were performed on 4,041 people in these camps. Based on the various test results doctor’s counselling given to the people at the camps, the Minister added.
