A 33-year-old software engineer stabbed his father, a retired Navy Captain, and his mother, a dentist, to death following a financial dispute in Bengaluru, according to police. He has been remanded in judicial custody. The police said that the accused, identified as Rohan Chandra Bhatt, was taken into custody hours after the crime and subjected to medical examination. The victims, identified as Naveen Chandra Bhatt, 60, a retired Navy Captain, and his wife Dr. Shyamala Bhatt, 55, a dentist, sustained severe injuries. They were rushed to the hospital by one of their neighbours, before alerting the police. The duo was declared ‘brought dead’ on arrival, the police said. The incident occurred at the upscale Adarsha Vista villa community in Vignan Nagar, East Bengaluru, on Wednesday. Probe revealed that Rohan had recently returned from the United States and was living separately from his parents due to strained relations. The accused visited the victims on Tuesday night, and an argument broke out over his alleged demand for financial assistance to start a new business venture. Police suspect that the argument escalated on Wednesday morning, during which Rohan allegedly attacked both his parents with a kitchen knife.
