HYDERABAD

Working president of the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) K.T. Rama Rao has exuded confidence that it is the pink flag (BRS) that would fly high in the upcoming municipal corporation elections in Hyderabad, irrespective of the number of civic bodies GHMC is split into since the party has a strong base despite some MLAs defecting to the ruling party.

Speaking at a party meeting here on Thursday to welcome S. Vijay Kumar Reddy from Serilingampally constituency along with followers, Mr. Rao said BRS would win the municipal polls in Hyderabad whenever they were held. Though the Serilingampally MLA elected on BRS ticket defected to the Congress, the cadre was intact with BRS and the party would make a clean sweep of the 24 divisions in the Serilingampally constituency/zone.

He accused the Congress of coming to power by making false promises to people and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) had done no good to Telangana during the last 12 years for which it is in power at the Centre. He stated that law and order had deteriorated badly in Hyderabad after the Congress party assumed power.

The BRS leader stated that the party would soon have division-wise meetings for the municipal corporation elections in the city. He assured the party cadre that the leadership would always be there for them at any hour of need.
