With final work progressing at a brisk pace, the Tiruchi Corporation is set to inaugurate the integrated sports centre at Anna Nagar on February 16 and has commenced membership enrolment.

The air-conditioned sports complex, coming up near the Uzhavar Santhai in Ward 28, has been developed at a cost of ₹5.51 crore under the State Finance Commission Grant and the Corporation funds. The facility will feature two table tennis courts, a recreational space, a modern gym, and dedicated areas for indoor games, including billiards, slide hockey, and table soccer.

Amenities include a kitchen-cum-dining hall with an in-house cook, an administrative block, separate accommodation, and changing rooms for sportspersons, sanitation facilities, CCTV surveillance, and seating arrangements for spectators. Parking space will be available for up to 50 cars and two-wheelers.

Membership enrolment for the sports centre is open. Individuals can opt for a lifetime membership by paying a deposit of ₹2 lakh along with an annual maintenance fee of ₹15,000. Lifetime members will have access to facilities, including table tennis, billiards, a gym, suite rooms, and a restaurant.

Separate fee structure had been prescribed for annual and monthly membership while individual user charges will apply for each sport. Charges have been fixed for both peak hours (5 a.m. to 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. to 9 p.m.) and non-peak hours.

For non-members, monthly charges range from ₹500 to ₹1,000 an hour per day for table tennis, ₹5,000 for billiards, and ₹1,500 for the gym. For yearly members, charges range between ₹5,000 and ₹10,000 for table tennis, ₹50,000 for billiards, and ₹12,000 for gym usage. A user fee of ₹4,000 for accessing the suite rooms is applicable to both members and non-members.

Those interested in becoming members may contact the Assistant Commissioner, Zone V, in person or apply online through the QR code available on the Tiruchi Corporation’s official website, Commissioner L. Madhubalan said in a press release.
