Bhongir MP Chamala Kiran Reddy said Telangana has secured more urea during the kharif season compared to last year, adding that the BRS criticism over the issue was for political survival. Speaking to reporters, Mr. Reddy said Telangana received 9.66 lakh metric tonnes of urea for the 2024–25 kharif season and 10.41 lakh metric tonnes for rabi (yasangi) season. For the 2025–26 kharif season, 9.79 lakh metric tonnes had already been secured, he said. “Where has the government failed,” he asked BRS working president K.T. Rama Rao, accusing him of spreading false propaganda against the Congress government from the very first day of the New Year. He alleged that KTR had resorted to “Goebbels-style propaganda” by deliberately misleading people on the issue of urea supply to farmers. He said that both Mr. Rao and Harish Rao are continuously targeting the Congress government with baseless allegations just to be in public memory. The MP accused Mr. Harish Rao of spreading misinformation on Krishna and Godavari river waters and the Palamuru–Rangareddy project, while Mr. K.T. Rama Rao is indulging in false campaigns regarding urea availability. “Instead of spreading untruths, both of them should speak about public issues based on facts,” he asserted. Mr. Reddy said the Congress government had ensured an uninterrupted urea supply by staging protests and directly engaging with Union Fertilizer Minister Jagat Prakash Nadda. He claimed that the urea supply to Telangana now is much higher than during the ten-year rule of the BRS.
