The Karnataka Upalokayukta has filed a complaint alleging that he was cheated in an online shopping fraud after receiving a parcel containing old clothes instead of the pack of razor blades he had purchased.

According to the complaint, Justice K.N. Phaneendra had ordered from an online marketing company on February 4, 2026. On February 9, a person identifying himself as Vijay and claiming to be from Shadowfax Logistics contacted the complainant regarding the delivery

As the complainant was at his office at the time, he asked the delivery executive to deliver the parcel to his residence. The delivery was made to his home address, and a cash payment of ₹699 was collected.

Later, in the evening, when the complainant returned home and opened the package, he was shocked to find a pair of old clothes inside instead of the razor he had ordered. He immediately contacted the delivery agent, Vijay, who reportedly denied responsibility and advised him to contact the online shopping company, stating that the logistics firm was not connected to the contents of the parcel.

Alleging that he has been cheated by the online marketing company and the logistics service involved in delivery, the complainant has approached the police seeking legal action and recovery of his money.

Based on the complaint, the Central cyber cime police on Wednesday (February 11, 2026) registered an FIR against Vijay charging him under cheating by impersonation and 318(4) (cheating and dishonestly inducing another to deliver property) of the BNS for further investigation.
