Prince Raj, 20, died late Wednesday (February 11, 2026) night at Guru Nanak Dev Hospital in Amritsar, Deputy Superintendent of Police Jagdeep Singh said. On February 9, Prince shot himself in the temple after shooting at 19-year-old Sandeep Kaur, who died on the spot. Both Prince and Sandeep were first-year law students and classmates at Mai Bhago Law College in Usma village in Tarn Taran. The entire incident was captured on a CCTV camera installed in the classroom. The footage showed Prince, Sandeep, and another female student sitting together, with some students around. The footage showed Prince getting up, taking a pistol out from his bag, and shooting Sandeep. He then shot himself in the head and fell on the floor. The shocked student, sitting with Sandeep, got up and checked on her, but she was motionless. A few students rushed inside the classroom after hearing the gunshot, but fled seeing a dead Sandeep. The woman’s family claimed that Prince had been harassing her for some time and had even followed her home on one occasion. Sandeep was engaged to be married, a family member said. The police earlier said that the weapon used by Prince appeared to be illegal. Prince hailed from Mallian village, while Sandeep was from Naushehra Pannuan village. A case had been registered under Section 103 (punishment for murder) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and sections of the Arms Act.
