Union Minister for Rural Development and Agriculture Chouhan was the chief guest of the event at the Vivekananda Mini Stadium. Attendees included Tripura Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha along with several of his Cabinet colleagues holding portfolios for finance, higher education, industries, tourism, social welfare and fisheries. Speaking on the occasion, Union Minister Chouhan recalled Swami Vivekananda’s vision of India becoming a world leader, stating that this aspiration is being fulfilled under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership. He stressed the designation of the North-East as ‘Ashtalakshmi’ and described Tripura as a ‘Dhanalakshmi’ hub, indicating the State’s importance in rural development. Mr. Chouhan also criticised Opposition parties, specifically the Congress and Left Front, for their past administrations which he claimed only changed project names without substantial contributions contrasting this with the current initiative aimed at guiding rural development effectively. Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha highlighted the central government’s commitment to strengthening the rural economy and emphasised the need for judicious use of funds to achieve genuine development. During the event, several projects were inaugurated. Certificates were distributed to beneficiaries of various projects. Some departments, including the Department of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, established exhibition stalls, facilitating interaction between visitors and officials present.
