The Dr. K.V. Thiruvengadam Health Care Excellence Award – 2026 was presented to S. G. Ramanan, senior medical oncologist, Apollo Cancer Hospital and managing trustee, Cancare Foundation, in recognition of his outstanding contributions to cancer care, according to a press release. The Rotary Club of Madras East and Kauvery Hospital jointly organised a function in which Dr. Ramanan was honoured for his patient-centric approach, his dedication to advancing oncology services, and his consistent efforts to combine evidence-based medicine with compassion and empathy, the press release said. The award was presented by K. Narayanasamy, Vice-Chancellor, Tamil Nadu Dr. M.G.R. Medical University, who was the chief guest, while Vinod Saraogi, district governor, Rotary International District 3234 was the guest of honour. This is the 20th edition of the award, falling in the centenary year of Dr. Thiruvengadam’s birth, said Koushik MuthuRaja M., chairperson, Dr. KVT Awards Committee.
