A 29-year-old man was killed after the car he was driving rammed a tree on Thadagam Road near Coimbatore city on Wednesday morning. The deceased was identified as M. Bharathraj, a resident of Chinnathadagam, who was employed in a food delivery firm. According to the Thadagam police, the incident occurred at 12.40 a.m. when Bharathraj, along with his friends Aditya and Sangeetha, was heading towards Coimbatore city. They said Bharathraj, who was at the wheel, reportedly lost control of the car at Kalayanur on Thadagam Road. The car veered off the road and rammed a palmyra tree. The police said that Bharathraj suffered injuries and died on the spot. Aditya was hospitalised for injuries and Sangeetha was discharged after receiving first aid. A case has been registered at Thadagam police station in connection with the accident.
