Protesters attempt to block CM’s convoy in Puducherry

An altercation broke out between voucher paid employees of the Public Works Department and the Police when the workers tried to block the cavalcade of Chief Minister N. Rangasamy on Cuddalore Road. 

The employees, who are on a protest for long demanding regularisation of work, tried to stage a protest during an event of the Chief Minister on Wednesday morning. According to the workers, five of them sustained injuries as the police resorted to a lathicharge.
