The police team investigating an alleged gang rape of a woman at knifepoint at a spa in Thiruvalla has arrested one more person in connection with the case. The accused, Prashobh, a native of Chumathra, was taken into custody from Ranni in Pathanamthitta and his arrest has been recorded on Wednesday. With this arrest, the number of accused held in the case has risen to four while two more accused remain at large. As there are indications that they are in Bengaluru, the police have expanded the investigation beyond Kerala. The probe has also widened to examine the role of a colleague of the survivor. The survivor had alleged that the colleague failed to intervene while she was being assaulted and behaved in a friendly manner with certain members of the gang. The police are also investigating the angle of business rivalry following allegations that the crime may have been linked to a quotation issued by another spa owner.
