The Cabinet meeting held here on Wednesday approved the proposal by Kochi Metro Rail Limited (KMRL) to take a loan of ₹1,016.24 crore from the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank for the second phase expansion of the Kochi metro rail project from JLN Stadium to Infopark via Kakkanad. KMRL has been permitted to enter into a loan agreement and project agreement with the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank.
