Two persons in possession of tiger body parts were apprehended by the Directorate of Revenue Intelligence in Hyderabad on Monday. The crime has links to Kerala, giving rise to suspicions about inter-State wildlife smuggling racket. Two canine teeth of tiger, and seven nails were seized from the duo, after which they were handed over to the Forest Range Officer, Hyderabad Central Circle, for further process. The accused were trapped by the DRI officials who acted as prospective buyers and called them to a hotel in Nampally, a note informed. On enquiry, the accused have confessed that they received the illegal wildlife merchandise from one Zakariya from Kerala. A case has been registered and the accused persons have been remanded to judicial custody by the court. Information has been shared with Kerala Forest Department for further probe, the note said.
