Deputy Chief Minister and Bengaluru Development Minister D.K. Shivakumar has announced a special free e-Khata campaign across all five city corporations, with a fixed timeline of 15 days for converting B-Khatas to A-Khatas. The Greater Bengaluru Authority (GBA) has received around 7,000 applications seeking conversion of ‘B’ Khata properties to ‘A’ Khata, with Mr. Shivakumar assuring that ‘A’ Khatas will be handed over to all eligible property owners within 15 days. Officials have been directed to ensure doorstep delivery of e-Khatas to applicants, the Deputy Chief Minister said, emphasising that the process would be completely free and that citizens should be able to obtain e-Khatas without paying “even a single rupee” as bribe.
