Chintapalli sub-division police arrested two persons for alleged possession of ganja and seized 308 kg ganja at Kotagunnam village under Annavaram police station limits in Alluri Sitharama Raju district, on Monday night (February 09, 2026). The police teams conducted raids at an isolated place in Kotagunnam based on credible information and found 308 kg ganja packed in bags. Police said that the contraband was sourced from Odisha, to be transported to Narsipatnam, from where it may be shifted to Northern States. The police teams managed to arrest two, while four other accused, who were allegedly involved in the case, escaped from the spot. Search is on to nab them. The seized ganja is estimated to be around ₹30 lakh to ₹40 lakh in other States, as per the police.
