A plea has been filed before the Kerala High Court, seeking sanction to initiate criminal contempt proceedings against Leader of the Opposition V.D. Satheesan with regard to a comment he allegedly made to the media about a former Chief Justice of the Kerala High Court. The former Chief Justice, while hearing a plea by Mr. Satheesan seeking a CBI probe into the K-FON project, is said to have made an oral comment on whether the plea was in public interest or in publicity interest. Mr. Satheesan allegedly told media persons that there was no need to admit the plea on file, if it was meant for publicity, adding that some Chief Justice said it in open court. The petitioner, Ramees P.K., a lawyer, termed the statements as irresponsible, derogatory, and contemptuous.
