Delhi University (DU) will be hosting its first literature festival from February 12 to 14 on the theme ‘Nation First: Unity in Diversity’. It will include events such as ‘bhajan (devotional music) clubbing’, tribal and folk dance, a ‘kavi sammelan (conclave of poets)’, book launches, and book discussions.

The line-up of speakers includes filmmaker Vivek Agnihotri, senior vice president of ISKCON Bangalore Chanchalapathi Dasa, BJP functionaries Ram Madhav and Vijay Chauthaiwale, and author Priyanka Sharma Kaintura.

Mr. Agnihotri will be speaking at a session titled ‘Cinema and Rashtra Prem’. Mr. Dasa will be part of a panel discussing ‘Rashtra Dharma, India’s Moral Compass: Dharma, Leadership and Nation’. Ms. Kaintura will be speaking on ‘Extolling the Divine Feminine’.

“More than 50 speakers are expected to attend this three-day event. The participation of lakhs of students will make the festival memorable,” read a statement from DU.

While other literature festivals have been held on the campus, this is the first time that the university will be conducting such an event on its own. “Be part of diverse panels and engaging conversations at Delhi University Literature Festival 1.0, where ideas, perspectives, and voices come together to celebrate the spirit of Nation First,” stated a post on the festival on social media platforms.
