The Muvattupuzha police on Monday (February 9) arrested a man from Odisha for allegedly murdering a young colleague from that State. Sarath Maharana, 36, was arrested for allegedly stabbing Rakesh Behra, 26, to death. According to the police, a verbal altercation among employees of a plywood company at Pezhakkappilly in Muvattupuzha led to the murder. The alleged incident took place on Sunday night (February 8). Though Behra was rushed to a nearby hospital, he was referred to the Kolenchery Medical College from there for advanced treatment. However, he succumbed to injuries while being transported to the medical college, the police said.
