Fire safety drill and training session held in Thoothukudi

A fire safety drill and practical training session was conducted on Monday at the Fire and Rescue Services Station in Thoothukudi.

The mock drill and the training session has been organised for the security personnel working in private companies, industries and hospitals.

During the session, the participating private security personnel were given detailed practical demonstration on emergency measures to be taken during fire accidents., the proper handling of fire fighting equipment and safe methods for evacuating the public.

At the training, fire safety awareness pamphlets were distributed to all participants. Training certificates were also issued by the Fire and Rescue Services department to the security personnel, who successfully completed the training.

At the programme, officials stated that during emergencies, if on site security personnel effectively carry out first aid and initial fire fighting measures before the arrival of fire services personnel, it would help prevent major loss of life and property.
