The Hyderabad Disaster Response & Asset Protection Agency (HYDRAA) has reclaimed a colony park from encroachments at Narsingi village of Gandipet mandal, Ranga Reddy district, on Monday.

At Arunodaya Housing Society, a HUDA layout, 6,078 square yards of land was allocated for colony park. It was encroached to an extent of 3,000 square yards, where even structures were raised. Of the remaining land, 1,600 square yards was encroached upon by a local resident, who constructed a pre-cast compound wall enclosing the land and sheds inside. Narsingi municipal officials had earlier taken action and removed the structures, but the person repeated the violation during the interregnum of transfer of municipal authorities to GHMC.

Local residents approached HYDRAA complaining against the breach, upon which the officials conducted a site inspection along with the Revenue and Municipal officials. Confirming it to be the land allocated for a park, the officials marked the boundaries and fenced off the site, a statement from HYDRAA informed.
