Two plantation workers from Assam suffered injuries after being attacked by a leopard in Gowthalli village, Mudigere taluk, Chikkamagaluru district, on Monday. Sabina Samad and Sultan Javed were working at a coffee estate belonging to Chandre Gowda on Monday morning when the wild animal attacked them. As they raised their voices for help, the animal ran away. Both suffered injuries to their backs, necks, and legs. Other workers at the plantation moved them to a hospital in Mudigere Following the incident, the officers of the Forest Department visited the site. Residents are concerned about the incident, as they are already facing issues with elephants. The people who gathered at Gowthalli urged the Forest Department to take measures to prevent human-wildlife conflict in the area.
