A 45-year-old woman, who suffered serious injuries while being robbed by miscreants in a chain-snatching incident, died on Monday.

The deceased has been identified as Jyothi, 45, a resident of Huskur village in the Madanayakanahalli police station limits.

The incident occurred when she stepped out of her house in the morning. Two unidentified men arrived on a motorcycle and attempted to snatch the 70 gm gold chain she was wearing. When Jyothi resisted, the accused forcibly pulled the chain and pushed her to the ground before fleeing the spot with the gold chain. Jyothi suffered serious injuries after falling unconscious.

She was immediately shifted to a private hospital at Nelamangala, where doctors declared her brought dead, the police said.

Following post-mortem formalities, the body was shifted to Victoria Hospital.

The Madanayakanahalli police conducted a spot inspection, and registered a case of robbery and death. Efforts are on to trace the accused.
