The nameboards were replaced in the presence of the Minister for Social Welfare Dola Sri Bala Veeranjaneya Swamy, Collector in-charge P. Raja Babu, Superintendent of Police in-charge V. Harshavardhan Raju and district MLAs to mark the occasion. Mr. Veeranjaneya Swamy said the government stood by its commitment in the formation of Markapuram district, thus meeting the aspirations of the people. A.P. Maritime Board Chairman Damacharla Satya, MLAs Kandula Narayana Reddy (Markapuram), M. Ashok Reddy (Giddalur), M. Ugra Narasimha Reddy (Kanigiri), Yerragondapalem TDP in-charge G. Erixion Babu participated in the press conference and thanked the State government making it a reality.
