A police team led by the Inspector of Taramani Crime Wing Sivakalai conducted a detailed inquiry at the scene, examined CCTV footage, and traced the two-wheeler used by the accused to escape after committing the crime. Following sustained investigation, the police arrested Anand, 50, of Govindasamy Nagar, Raja Annamalaipuram. During interrogation, it was found that Anand had also broken into a locked house and stolen gold jewellery and cash within the limits of the Thiruvanmiyur police station.
