Criminal case against owner for dumping construction waste in Osmansagar

The Hyderabad Metropolitan Water Supply & Sewerage Board (HMWS&SB) seized a tractor for allegedly dumping construction waste in Osmansagar reservoir, one of the sources of drinking water for Hyderabad. A criminal case was registered against the tractor’s owner.

The Board said its patrolling staff on its devices captured the tractor bearing registration number TS07UM9831 dumping the waste at point 425 near Himayat Nagar village.

It was said the tractor driver-owner, Kummari Gopal, reportedly confessed to the illegal act. He was booked under provisions related to water and environmental laws by Moinabad police.

The Board said such acts will not be tolerated, and violators will attract strict legal action. The Water Board can be approached on its customer care number 155313 to lodge complaints on dumping waste and contamination of reservoirs.
